Fleetwood Mac’s Bare Trees is open-ended.
Does it say it’s fine that I’m in bed butt naked, by myself?
Or does it say that you need to get out of your bed, come over here and get in mine?
Fleshing out that idea, we’ll pull the blinds up, watch snow flurries materialize from a peach-colored sky.
Beautiful words to accompany a beautiful picture!
Thanks! I tried to find a picture that would more closely resemble my words, an actual peach colored sky with just trees and snow flurries — but couldn’t. But this one’s nice too I agree.
Auntie Sandee,
An astute interrogation. Such questioning is reminiscent of Manfred Mann’s Blinded by the Light, and the very obscure meaning behind the lyric:
Blinded by the light / revved up like a douche / another shower in the night.
Le Clown
We could have a program with these kinds of mysterious lyrics, make a game with people coming up with their own meanings — and what the fuck is ‘the pompatus of love’ — still haven’t gotten an answer to that…still haven’t gotten an answer to that ~shaking my head~
Auntie Sandee,
Sometimes, we might be better off not knowing…
Le Clown
Aaahahahahahaaa! Yes. I think you’re right.
‘Scuze me while I kiss this guy.
Smak,
Touché!
Le Clown
One of the really good pre-Buckingham/Nicks albums. Who cares whose bed you’re in, as long as that awesome guitar keeps playing.
I know right?! I love this song. I’d never heard it before a few months ago. It played on my ‘Mister Soul’ Buffalo Springfield Pandora station. Interesting because the station plays mainly sixties ‘garage’ music but it throws others into the mix. The main groups they play that I like are The Pretty Things, The Savage Resurrection and Wilkinson Tri-cycle. These songs reminds me when I was a kid and my dad had his studio downtown with all the groovy artists.
It has a groovy little beat, does it not? Sounds like something from the late 60’s early 70’s.
The picture is perfect for this time of year – it really captures the right mood.
I wrote this a while back after hearing the song. The words really are just an excuse to post the song.
love this, look at your, shaking it up. you are a renissance woman. and I am clearly not because that is not spelled right…
Who the hell has tiem to be loking up words — ahahahaha! Thanks Evelyn!

This is one of my favorite words ‘groovy’ — I don’t care what they say! Hehehehe
